KASIA DOMANSKA, Katarzyna Domańska, painter, born in Warsaw in 1972. She creates paintings using traditional oil techniques. She studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, in the Faculty of Painting, in the Painting and Sculpture studios. She received her diploma in painting and an annex in sculpture in 1995. The artist's paintings have been exhibited internationally, including in Warsaw, Krakow, New York, London, the Florence Biennale, and the Art Basel international art fair in Basel, Switzerland, Art Miami, and Art Palm Beach. Her works are held in private collections in Europe and the United States.
She combines the traditional oil painting method and the style of the Renaissance Old Masters with a contemporary perspective on painting and Pop Art, intertwining realism with surrealism.
The artist's work speak of emotions, the affirmation of life, and its fleeting beauty. Light is the power of her paintings. It determines their subject matter, mood, and balanced composition. It is brightness, joy, day and life, creating an idyllic climate. The thought of humanity's eternal connection with nature emerges. In her paintings, we find light, air, earth, water, and the senses—elements sublimely imagined in artwork with magnetic power.
Her paintings possess delicacy, power, and sensuality. We feel as if we are gazing at wonderfully fragrant paintings that become multi-sensual art.
The artist creates balanced, pure art that brings peace and tranquility. The composition leaves moments of silence and stillness, while simultaneously transforming her images into living forms pulsating with vital energy.
In her paintings, the affirmation of nature and life becomes a backdrop for a symbolic celebration of emotions, moods, and reflections. Beneath the literal meaning lies another, hidden meaning, which the artist allows to speak freely. Her paintings express a passion for beauty in all its forms, from the sublime to the everyday.
